Boryeong Mud Festival

Today I went down south to Boryeong to a popular Mud Festival with the Simons! Spencer couldn't come because of work! He got called last minute for a job which was such a bummer, but also good cause, we like work! It was about a 2 hour drive down to where we were. We left at 7:30AM to get there early.

The festival had tons of activities and challenges including obstacle courses, slides, mud soccer, and several mud pits to just wrestle in. The challenges were all in the big blow up My favorite challenge was the floating "king of the rock" type challenge. We started with two teams, 4 on each side and the goal is to push the other team off. It was so much fun! My team definitely won and I take pride in the fact that I knocked Diamond off! At the end Brian dumped us all in so that was whatever. The other challenge I really liked was a giant circle and we had to push the other team out of the circle. No one had a chance against Brian though. It ended up being a free for all more than a team thing. It was really fun.

The festival was right on the beach so once we were done in the mud we got to wash off in the ocean! It felt really nice, except that there were so many people that you couldn't really move in the water. Plus, all the Koreans just stand there in their life jackets and floaties and don't do anything. We ate fried chicken for lunch on the beach. It tasted really good.

After the beach we went out on a little floating obstacle course on the ocean. We had to walk out a ways to it and they told us we couldn't take our shoes, the problem is the blue ramp out to the course was soooo hot on our feet. The obstacle course was really fun though! We had to work together to help everyone get across it. Basically once you fall in the water the lifeguards come running over and throw you a line and pull you out which is funny because everyone was required to wear a life jacket to begin with. Later in the afternoon a group of performance jets similar to the Blue Angels did a show right over the beach. They played chicken and drew shapes in the sky. It was really cool. They did a flyover with the afterburners on and made everyone scream really loud which was pretty funny. It was such a fun day! I wish Spencer had been able to come with us! All day everyone kept saying how much they wished he had been there. Diamond told me at one point, "Your husband would have loved it here...he probably never woulda left." You're not wrong Diamond 😅
